Ever since making her big-screen debut in The Princess Diaries back in 2001, Anne Hathaway has become one of the most popular actresses of her generation. Hathaway earned her first Oscar nomination following Jonathan Demme’s 2008 film Rachel Getting Married. Four years later, Hathway won her first Academy Award for her work in the musical adaptation of Les Miserables.

On November 22nd, Hathaway returns to the big screen in Todd Haynes’ new star-studded legal-thriller Dark Waters. To whet our appetite for her return, let’s have a look at Anne Hathway’s 3 Best Movies According to IMDB!

Going fashionably toe-to-toe with Meryl Streep is no easy feat, but easy is precisely what Hathaway did in the 2006 smash hit The Devil Wears Prada.

Based on the bestselling Laura Weisberger novel, Hathaway plays the wide-eyed Andrea Sachs, a newly graduated journalist looking to make it big in the magazine industry. When she lands a job as a personal assistant to the vicious Miranda Priestly (Streep), an executive for a top-selling fashion magazine, Andy’s life is turned upside down. Conforming at first, Andrea learns the importance of being yourself in the end.

2. ONE DAY (7.0/10)

While scoring a middling rating from the critics, IMDB fans fell in love with Hathaway’s throwback romantic drama, One Day.

Adapted by Lone Scherfig from the David Nicholls novel, One Day follows the romantic exploits of Emma (Hathaway) and Dexter (Jim Sturgess). Their first encounter occurs on the night of their college graduation, with the rest of the film peeking in on their relationship on the same date every year. The elliptical story shows how a meaningful bond can evolve over time for the better and the worse.

In a rare coincidence, Douglas McGrath’s Nicholas Nickleby shares the same Metascore and IMDB rating. Meaning, the movie appeals to casual fans and critics alike!

Adapted from the Charles Dickens novel, the story concerns the title character’s dogged attempt to rescue his family from his ruthless uncle’s cruel behavior. Hathaway plays Madeline Bray in the film, an artist forced to financially support her father after he gambles away his money. When Nickleby meets Bray, a romantic entanglement ensues that complicates matters for all involved.

Not to forget her other movies:
